What is the fastest and most convenient way to get a textbook into the hands of a college student?
To answer that question, a group of people began a series of meetings on January 20, 1999 and eCampus was born. The more we talked the more we came up with new ideas for service and convenience.
By February 1 we were writing code - including code for what we think was the first "traveling book bag" on the Internet. We incorporated on April 16, 1999 and began to move into our headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky. eCampus officially went live at approximately 11:20 AM, Friday, July 2, 1999.
As the site grew in scope and capability others joined us. Development teams emerged. Designs and ideas were discussed, developed and adopted.
On July 18, 2001, E Campus experienced a rebirth when A Book Company, LLC, purchased the eCampus name and domain. Our commitment is as strong as ever to provide our customers with affordable textbooks and stuff - perhaps while having a little fun along the way.
Today, E Campus is a fully operational e-commerce business designed to provide the highest-quality products and services to students and campus communities wherever they happen to be.
Of course, the history of E Campus will never be fully written because our web-store will never be completely finished. We constantly improve the way our site works and the services and merchandise we can provide.

The eCampus technical architecture is built to remain operational and secure 24 hours a day, 364 days a year. The web servers and site application are running on the Microsoft ASP/SQL Server platform. eCampus maintains multiple server and databases backups to ensure no data is ever lost. For extra security, all web transactions are encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Technology.
The web site and servers for eCampus are hosted in a hardened environment with OC-3 fiber optic Internet circuits uninterruptible power, diesel backup generators and Halon fire suppression systems.
Network routing and security is through a host of Cisco routers and switches, and net screen firewalls. The network is monitored 24-7 to prevent unauthorized entry.

How do I place an order?
At any time while shopping at E Campus, items can be selected for purchase by simply clicking the "Add to Cart" button. You always have the ability to view selected items in your Shopping Cart by clicking the "Checkout" button located at the top of every screen. When you want to return to the store, just click the "Continue to Shop" button on the bottom left of the Checkout screen.
When you're finished shopping, click the "Checkout" button located in the upper right-hand corner of every screen. You can then make any changes to the items currently in your Shopping Cart. Click "Continue to Checkout", fill out your billing and shipping information, click "Submit Order", and you're done!
Is my credit card safe?
E Campus employs the latest version of Secure Socket Layer Technology (SSL) to encrypt your information and help insure that only you and eCampus ever see it. If your web browser doesn't permit a secure connection, E Campus will not accept your personal information including credit card numbers. Your browser should display a "lock" or "key" icon in the lower left-hand corner of your screen when a secure connection is made, and the URL bar on the top of your browser typically shows the first characters as "https."
E Campus is also a VeriSign Secure Site ensuring the highest levels of security so you can be certain that our site is genuine, and that the information you provide us stays private and confidential. E Campus displays the VeriSign Secure Site Seal allowing you to check the web site Server ID's information and status in real time, and providing additional protection against the misuse of revoked and expired certificates.
What are my shipping options?
At ECampus, you'll get FREE U.S. POSTAL SHIPPING if your order is both over $49 and under 20 pounds, and our flat-rate premium options are among the cheapest around.

Please Note: While our free shipping offer is available for all orders, we strongly discourage its use for textbooks or other time sensitive orders. The US Postal Service provides the USPS shipping graphs displayed on our site, and service varies depending on the postal service to your area.
When is my credit card charged?
When you submit an order to E Campus, we obtain credit card authorization only. We do not actually charge your credit card until the date we ship your order to you.
If items in your order are shipped separately due to varying availability, we obtain credit card authorization again for those items, and only charge your credit card when each item ships. You will only be charged once for shipping if shipping charges apply.
When can I expect my order to ship?
In order to keep shipping costs low for you, E Campus attempts to group items on an order into shipments based on availability estimates. The order summary section on the checkout page will split them items on your order into anticipated shipment groupings. You will have the option of choosing "Fastest Delivery" or "Fewest Shipments". Each shipment group will ship from our distribution center as soon as we have received all of the items for the shipment into our inventory. Check out our Distribution Center.

How can I check the status of my order?
To view the status of your order, click "Order Status" from the top of any screen. Enter the email address you used when you placed your order, as well as your order number. You'll be able to view existing detail for your order. We'll even tell you the UPS tracking number or the U.S. Postal Service delivery confirmation number for your package if the items have already shipped.
What if I need to cancel my order?
You can cancel your order prior to shipping by emailing us at Cancellations@eCampus.com, but please contact us as quickly as possible after your order has been submitted. Be sure to include your order number in the email.
If your order has already been packed for shipment or is in transit, you can refuse shipment when UPS delivers. If your order has been received, return it to us by following the instructions on the back of the packing slip included with your order. You can even use the original packing materials.
What is your return policy?
Items purchased from eCampus may be returned for a refund (excluding shipping charges) up to 30 days after the date of shipment. Items must be returned in the condition in which they were received. Shrink-wrapped items cannot be returned if the wrapping is broken unless the items are defective. We will not accept items for return with open diskette packages or CD-ROM's that have broken seals.

Yes. Selling your used books to eCampus gets you top dollar and enables us to pass savings on to you and other students. Read our "Buyback details" for more information.
Do you sell used books?
E Campus endeavors to supply the highest-quality used books possible. The more used books we have on our site, the more opportunities you have to save money. Period.
Used books are considered in good condition even when they contain highlighting, margin notes, or other markings. If you are not satisfied with your book for any reason, please return it within 30 days from the invoice date for a refund (excluding shipping charges).
Any used book you purchase from E Campus has met our standards and is considered in good condition. However, used books are just that -- used. We cannot guarantee that additional materials originally included with a new book, such as CD's, workbooks, and other supplements, will come with the used edition you purchase.
What if I forgot my password?
Click on the "Order Status" button found at the top of every page. The sign-in screen has a "Forgot Your Password?" button. This button can also be found on the Checkout log-in page. Type in your email address and we will email your password to you immediately.
What if I don't see my school on your list?
E Campus supplies new and used textbooks, college gear, dorm decor, electronics, gifts and more to students on campuses across the nation. Knowing what school you attend helps us provide more products and better service to you and your college or university. Our school listings are extensive and we do our best to keep them up-to-date. If you don't see your school affiliation listed, let us know by contacting eService@eCampus.com.
What's an ISBN?
An International Standard Book Number is a 10-digit number used to give every book its own identification label. You may be unsure of a book's full title, author, or year published, but if you know its ISBN, you can be sure you've got the right book.
